Founder G.K. Gupta: Our Mission to Provide Salvation to the Unclaimed Souls Will Continue

Haridwar, (Uttarakhand) [India]: Abhinav Samaj, a well-known social organization based in Delhi, once again demonstrated its commitment to social service by performing the Asthi Visarjan (immersion of ashes) of 170 unclaimed individuals at Kanakhal Sati Ghat in Haridwar. The ceremony was led by the founder of Abhinav Samaj, G.K. Gupta, along with several office bearers and volunteers of the organization.

Asthi Visarjan Conducted with Full Rituals

The sacred ritual was conducted under the guidance of Pandit Vinay Pradhan, ensuring that the last rites were performed according to Hindu traditions. The ashes had been collected from various cremation grounds across Delhi, where they had been left unclaimed. With full respect and devotion, the volunteers of Abhinav Samaj immersed the ashes in the holy Ganges, praying for the souls’ peace and salvation.

Third Such Initiative by Abhinav Samaj

G.K. Gupta, the founder of Abhinav Samaj, explained that many cremation grounds in Delhi have unclaimed ashes left behind—some belonging to individuals whose funerals were conducted by the police, while others were simply abandoned by family members. Recognizing this deep humanitarian and spiritual issue, Abhinav Samaj took it upon itself to collect these ashes and ensure they receive a dignified final journey.

This was the third such initiative undertaken by the organization, and with this, they have now performed Asthi Visarjan for a total of 370 unclaimed individuals.

With Maa Ganga’s Blessings, The Service Will Continue

Usha Devi, the program coordinator of Abhinav Samaj, expressed her gratitude, saying,

“With Maa Ganga’s blessings, we have been given the opportunity to perform this sacred duty. We are doing this with full devotion under the principles of Sanatan Dharma to ensure that these abandoned souls attain peace and moksha.”

Several volunteers, including Riya Singh, Anil Kumar, and Dharmendra, actively participated in the ceremony.

Abhinav Samaj: A Symbol of True Social Service

Beyond Asthi Visarjan, Abhinav Samaj is actively engaged in a wide range of social welfare initiatives. The organization provides daily meals to over 1,000 needy individuals in Delhi and NCR. Additionally, they operate an Old Age Home and distribute educational materials to underprivileged children.

A key focus of the organization is training volunteers to work for the welfare of senior citizens. Over the past year, in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi College of Social Work and World Peace University, Abhinav Samaj has successfully trained more than 950 volunteers in elder care and social work.

A Special Appeal for the Hindu Ashes in Pakistan and Bangladesh

During the ceremony, Director of Abhinav Samaj, Birendra Kumar Soni, made a heartfelt appeal regarding the unclaimed ashes of Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

“We are aware that many Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh pass away, and their ashes remain waiting for immersion in the sacred Ganges. However, due to political and logistical challenges, they are unable to receive moksha according to Sanatan Dharma. Abhinav Samaj is willing to arrange a similar program for the ashes of Pakistani and Bangladeshi Hindus,” he said.

He further urged the government and the public to support this noble cause by granting permission to facilitate the Asthi Visarjan of these abandoned ashes.

“We appeal to the government and the people to grant us permission and extend their support. This is not just a religious duty but also a humanitarian responsibility to ensure that no soul remains trapped due to circumstances beyond their control,” he added.

A Noble Mission that Inspires Many

Through its dedication and compassion, Abhinav Samaj continues to set an example of true service to society. The organization’s efforts not only provide dignity to the departed but also inspire a sense of duty and humanity in others.

With its commitment to both social welfare and spiritual service, Abhinav Samaj stands as a shining example of selfless dedication to humanity.
