New Delhi: Walkaroo Foundation, the CSR arm of Walkaroo Group of Companies is committed to support education of the underprivileged in local communities. As part of this initiative, the foundation has signed a 3-year MOU with District Education Department with a view to support the education of underprivileged children in Malumichampatti area of Coimbatore. Recently, Walkaroo has built classrooms and noon meal shed for Government Higher Secondary School, Malumichampatti worth 50 lakhs.
To keep local communities involved as a collective process of community building, Walkaroo collaborated with the principal, parent teacher association, municipal bodies, and others throughout the construction process, including obtaining government clearances. The Principal and local dignitaries performed the initial puja prior to construction as well as the inauguration.
This project is a part of series of projects undertaken by the group. The other projects are at Nanganjud, Mysore and Kinaloor, Kozhikode. Apart from supporting in building the infrastructure, Walkaroo Foundation also provides financial aid to students in pursuing their academic goals.

With a strong belief that learning environment and infrastructure are critical in a child’s growing phase, Walkaroohas been instrumental in contributing and building the essential infrastructure at Malumichampatti by supporting the construction of four classrooms and a midday meal shed in the government school. We will continue supporting our local communities by providing them with amenities that would provide a holistic learning experience for the students. Walkaroo Foundation also undertakes development projects in domains of Healthcare, Sports, women empowerment etc.”
